我想知識的起點,就如蘇格拉底所明言的「認識你自己」(knowing yourself)。他認為「放任一己」的表現不是別的而是無知,而「克制一己」的表現也不是別的而是智慧。因此,要認識那要檢視人生的是誰,「放任一己」與「克制一己」是誰?那麼,一切知識的有效性才能找到立足點。於是我選擇從「認識你自己」開始。佛陀也讓我明白:「一個沒有覺醒的人生是沒有價值的人生 (an un-awakened life is not a worth living)。」
